This page explains what this website collects about you, why, who else sees it, how long it's kept, and what you can ask me to do with it. I've kept it in plain English.
1. Who runs this site
This website, jebrilosawaru.com, is run by Jebril Osawaru, based in Poland. I'm responsible for the personal data collected here.
For anything about your data, email support@jebrilosawaru.com.
2. What I collect, and why
| When | What | Why, and the legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| You visit the site | Technical data your browser sends: IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, date and time. | To deliver the pages, keep the site secure and fix problems. Basis: my legitimate interest in running a safe, working website. |
| You agree to marketing cookies on a sales page | The Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API record which pages you view and actions you take here, linked to a browser identifier. | To measure my ads on Facebook and Instagram and show them to people more likely to find them useful. Basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. |
| You book a call | Your name, email, the time you chose, and your answers (what you sell, where you're stuck, an optional link). | To review your request, confirm or decline it, run the call, and follow up about it. Basis: taking the steps you asked for before an agreement. |
| You email me | Your email address, name and whatever you write. | To reply and keep a record of our conversation. Basis: my legitimate interest in answering you. |
I don't sell your data, and I don't use it to make automated decisions that affect you.
3. Cookies and the Meta Pixel
This homepage, the privacy policy and the terms don't use the Meta Pixel or any tracking cookies. On my sales pages, where I measure my ads, a banner first asks whether you accept marketing cookies. Until you say yes, the Meta Pixel doesn't load and nothing about your visit is sent to Meta.
If you accept, Meta may set cookies such as _fbp (a browser identifier, kept up to 90 days) and _fbc (a record of the ad you clicked, kept up to 90 days). The same events are also sent from this website's server to Meta (the Conversions API), so that each visit is counted once and measured accurately. Where possible, details such as your email are scrambled (hashed) before they're sent.
About Meta and other third parties. Third parties, including Meta, may use cookies, web beacons and other storage technologies to collect or receive information from this website and elsewhere on the internet, and use that information to provide measurement services and target ads.
You can opt out of the collection and use of information for ad targeting at aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.eu, and in your ad preferences on Facebook and Instagram. On this site, you can change your choice at any time with the cookie settings link at the bottom of those pages.
Meta uses the data it receives under its own privacy policy.
The booking calendar comes from Cal.com and loads only when you scroll to it. Cal.com may set cookies inside it that the calendar needs to work. The fonts are served from this website itself.
4. Who else sees your data
- Hostinger hosts the website and the support@ mailbox.
- Cal.com runs the booking calendar and the video calls (Cal Video).
- Meta, as described in section 3, and only if you accept marketing cookies.
These companies process data for me under data processing agreements, except Meta, as explained above. Some of them may handle data outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. When they do, the transfer is protected by the safeguards the law requires, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
5. How long I keep it
Only as long as it's needed for the reason it was collected, or as long as the law requires. In practice:
- Booking details: usually up to 24 months after the call.
- Emails: as long as the conversation needs, usually no more than 3 years after the last message.
- Server logs: kept by Hostinger for a short time, for security and fixing problems.
- Pixel data: the cookies last up to 90 days. Meta keeps what it receives under its own policy.
6. Your rights
You can ask me to:
- show you the data I hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct it if it's wrong;
- delete it;
- limit how I use it, or stop using it where I rely on legitimate interest;
- send it to you or another service in a common format.
Where I rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time; that doesn't affect what happened before you withdrew it. Email support@jebrilosawaru.com and I'll reply within the time the law sets, usually one month. I may need to confirm who you are first, and some requests may be limited where the law allows, for example when I must keep a record.
If you're unhappy with how I handle your data, you can complain to a data protection authority:
- In Poland: the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, UODO), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, uodo.gov.pl.
- In Nigeria: the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, ndpc.gov.ng.
- Elsewhere in the EU or the UK: the authority where you live.
7. Children
This website and the calls are meant for adults. I don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent me their details, email me and I'll delete them.
8. Keeping it safe
The site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Only I can get into the website's admin, the mailbox and the booking calendar, and they're protected with strong passwords. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your data.
9. Changes to this policy
When I change what the website does with data, for example when I start selling products here, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
